About

Drew Kerr is president and founder of Four Corners Communications, Inc., a New York City-based public relations consultancy which has specialized in online and offline media since 1990. In mid-2007, Kerr returned his company to a solo operation to provide a small group of exclusive clients more direct strategy, creativity, and execution from his more than 25 years of public relations experience. Kerr’s relationships with reporters, editors and bloggers have helped his clients land stories everywhere from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and the Associated Press to Reuters, Business Week, Advertising Age, Mediapost, CNBC, NBC-TV, national radio networks and the top Web 2.0 blogs and news sites. He was an early practitioner of Internet and interactive public relations, helping launch Scholastic’s joint online venture with America Online in the late 90’s, followed by helping America Online announce its new advertising program to the press. Kerr and his company won three awards from Jupitermedia’s ChannelSeven.com for its interactive public relations work. Kerr was responsible for creating Cosmopolitan’s Open Casting Call for its Bachelor of the Month Calendar, Maxim’s Ultimate End of Seinfeld Party at Tom’s Diner, Parents’ ranking of the most family friendly restaurants in the country, Good Housekeeping’s annual December “Good Buy” Awards, Home Office Computing’s search for the most disorganized office in America, Blender’s breaking the record for listening to the world’s worst song, and Sirius Satellite Radio’s open call to find the sexiest voice on the radio. Kerr arranged Jean Chatzky’s regular personal finance contributor stint on the Today show in the mid-90’s, which continues to this day. He was also behind Good Housekeeping’s segments on the Today show, parenting contributor Anne Pleshette on Good Morning America, and the long-running “Maxim Minute” radio segment on ABC Radio News. Kerr has moderated and participated in numerous panels, on topics including maximizing special event publicity, dealing with “sticky situations” and building buzz for media launches. Additionally, he is known for his excellent writing and editing skills, and was interviewed by “PR Insider” magazine on the art of creating them. Under Kerr’s personal guidance and direction over the years, Four Corners has launched numerous media properties such as SmartMoney, Maxim, Stuff, Blender, The Week, Official Xbox Magazine, Mobile PC, Radar, and Mochila, driverTV, FileRadar.net and Gloob.tv. Before opening Four Corners, Drew Kerr oversaw the public relations at Radio City Music Hall Productions, handling everything from business to entertainment press for corporate and special events, television production, music concerts, stunt work, and marketing ventures. Kerr began his career as a journalist for the Buffalo Evening News and New York City-based alternative weeklies.
